Hello! My name is Vanessa Garay, and I'm the Senior Associate Director of Admission and the Director of Transfer Admission. I come from Mexico and I graduated from Rollins in 1997. I majored in Latin American and Caribbean Studies, and I can say that my Rollins experience was wonderful and truly unforgettable! I chose Rollins because of its academic reputation, fabulous study abroad program opportunities, small class size, beautiful campus, and incredible location.
I love traveling to new countries and learning about new cultures and languages. As a student, Rollins allowed me the opportunity to participate in three study abroad programs in London, Guatemala, and Mexico. The programs in Guatemala and Mexico were linked to my major and were a fabulous addition to my classes on campus. In London, England, I interned at the Royal Institute of International Affairs where I was able to meet and work with important political figures and researchers from around the world.
On campus, in addition to my classes, I took advantage of a variety of opportunities and activities. I worked as a writing consultant for my peers, did a lot of community service projects, and was involved in the International Student Organization, the Latin American Student Association, and one of the sororities on campus. As a Rollins student, whether on campus or off, you will have your own memorable and incredible experiences and be involved in the community in a variety of ways.
After graduation, my love of travel took me around the world to many different countries, but my love of Rollins drew me back to campus where I am now a part of the Admission team.
If you have any questions throughout the Admission process, please don't hesitate to contact me.
I look forward to hearing from you!
