Volunteer Opportunities

Contribute to the success of Alumni Weekend.

A Round of Applause

Volunteers from the classes of 1964 and 1969 presented a $2.15 million check for total reunion class giving at Alumni Convocation during Alumni Weekend 2014.

Each spring, hundreds of alumni return to campus to relive their Rollins experience and discover all that is new on campus at Alumni Weekend, the biggest alumni celebration of the year. Alumni Weekend volunteers play a vital role in generating buzz about the weekend, fostering meaningful connections with fellow alumni, and encouraging participation in class gifts in honor of anniversary years.

And because everyone likes a little friendly competition, volunteer efforts will be recognized at the Alumni Convocation awards presentation during Alumni Weekend. Trophies will be awarded to the class or affinity group who brings back the highest number of total attendees and highest percentage of attendees, as well as the class with the largest class gift and highest giving participation rate.

Volunteer Descriptions

Social Media Ambassadors
Build excitement for Alumni Weekend through your online networks. Volunteers will share Rollins College Alumni Facebook content and make their own plugs for Alumni Weekend at least twice a month throughout the year.

Alumni Weekend Agents
One of the top reasons alumni return for Alumni Weekend is to see their friends. An email, phone call, or postcard from a fellow alum goes a long way toward increasing registrations and ensuring a good turnout. Our team will provide sample scripts and updated content throughout the year for volunteers to share with their classmates and friends to help generate enthusiasm for Alumni Weekend.

Mini-Reunion Organizers
Do you want to plan a small, informal reunion during Alumni Weekend for a student organization you were a part of at Rollins? Volunteers will be in charge of reaching out to alumni and planning their own event. Our team will provide support in supplying contact lists and reserving a space for your celebration on campus, if available.

Gift Ambassadors
Milestone anniversary years provide the perfect opportunity for alumni to reflect on their Rollins experience and how they can impact the lives of current and future students. Gift Ambassadors encourage their classmates to participate in their class gift and educate their peers on the impact their collective gifts can have on future student experiences at Rollins. Along the way, Annual Giving staff will provide support, training, and materials to assist you. Alumni donors will be recognized at Alumni Convocation during the check presentation ceremony to the president.
