The Arts

Arts & Crafts (V,T,P) - New Class!

Beat the heat and come inside for some unique art and craft activities! If you enjoy using your imagination and creating art from  a variety of materials then this class is for you! Activities will include making rafts from natural and recycled materials, bead making, tie-dye, kite making, and much much more!

3D Art (V,T,P)

Ever wonder what it is like to be an artist or even a 3D sculptor? Here’s your chance to express yourself through the creation of your own 3D master pieces! The art materials you’ll get your hands on may include clay, plaster, wire, and other mesh-like materials. Campers will also learn about artists, including famous sculptors and other artists that use traditional 3D media.

Creative Theater (V,T,P) - New Class!

Places everyone…...places! This interactive theatre course is designed to spark imagination and creativity whether you’re a novice or experienced thespian! Campers will collaborate in exploratory theatre games, improvisation, creative storytelling and explore fundamental vocal technique and musical theatre movement in this fun-filled course!

Aeronautics (V,T,P)

Blast off with aeronautics! Have a blast during this “out of this world” class which will answer intriguing questions about aviation and aerospace. Campers will begin the class making their own paper airplanes, and will end by launching their own rockets! 

Book Club (V,T,P) - New Class!

Let’s go on an adventure with a good book! This class will feature books appropriate for readers of all levels. Campers will have the opportunity to enjoy picture books, poems, short stories, chapter books, participate in reader’s theater and much much more! Campers will get to flex their creative muscles as they engage in activities such as illustrating, writing alternative endings, and designing their own book covers.

Fun with Forensics (V,T,P) - New Class!

Campers explore the world of solving mysteries as they collect evidence, interview witnesses, and use a wide range of critical thinking skills as they solve cases around the Rollins campus. This class is full of games, scavenger hunts, and increasingly elaborate plots that will hone your camper’s teamwork and detective skills.

Sports


Indoor Fun with Fitness (V,T,P)

Come enjoy some active indoor fun! Campers will learn how exercise and a healthy lifestyle can impact their overall health. Activities may include yoga, stretching, balance exercises, obstacle courses, and team building competitions. 

Sailing & Canoeing* (T,P)

Are you ready to set sail? Campers will gain understanding of the fundamentals of sailing. Instruction will take place on beautiful Lake Virginia.  Water safety is emphasized; life jackets are worn at all times while on the lake. Basic swimming skills are required as well as a swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen.

*Campers must be at least 8 years old to participate.

*Additional option. This class is also offered in the A.M. prior to Camp each day from 8am—9am and has a one time fee per session, per child.

Swimming (V,T,P)

Just keep swimming! This multi-level course will introduce beginners to the basics, as well as challenge the advanced swimmer. Certified lifeguards and instructors will be present at all sessions. Classes utilize Red Cross’ “Learn to Swim” program. Swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen required.

*Additional option. This class meets from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and has a one-time fee per session, per child.

Outdoor Team Sports (V,T,P)

Come out and play! A variety of games, such as kickball, flag football, ultimate Frisbee, basketball, beach volleyball, soccer and other similar group games will be played. Campers will build skills such as eye-hand/eye-foot coordination, balance, and agility. Special emphasis will be placed on teamwork, group strategy, cooperation, sportsmanship, self-esteem, and fun!

Tennis (V,T,P)

Grab your racket and get ready for some fun in the sun! Classes are structured for the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Young athletes will learn the rules of the game, including court etiquette. This course will include instruction in forehand and backhand strokes, serves, volley, overhead smash, and footwork. Tennis racket required.

*Additional option. This class meets from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and has a one-time fee per session, per child.

Sailing & Canoeing (T,P)

Campers must be at least 8 years old to participate. This class meets from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and has a one-time fee per session, per child.

Swimming (V,T,P)

This class meets from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and has a one-time fee per session, per child.

Tennis (V,T,P)

Tennis racket required. This class meets from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and has a one-time fee per session, per child.
