CFAM Welcomes Danny Powell as Education Curator

Welcome Danny Powell, Curator of Education

Danny Powell comes to the Cornell Fine Arts Museum after four years in museum education in New York City. He has taught at the Children's Museum of the Arts, where he developed curricula and led classes for elementary and middle school students, and most recently at Museum of the Moving Image, leading educational programs for students and visitors of all ages including high school, college, and senior groups. Danny is also a passionate writer and filmmaker, and when not teaching or making art he curates film programs for Brooklyn Wayfarers art gallery and writes poetry, with work most recently published in Penny Ante Feud.

Danny graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Maryland, College Park with a B.A. in English Language and Literature before completing a Master's program in Film and Video at American University in Washington, DC. He will begin his duties at the Cornell in early January and writes, "I am tremendously excited to join Cornell Fine Arts Museum and the Rollins community, and I can't wait to welcome students to CFAM for an amazing 2013 at the museum."
