Teacher Certification Application Instructions

Applications are accepted on a rolling admission basis. Florida Teacher Certification Students

If seeking certification only, applications must submit the following for admission into the Teacher Education program:

  • A completed application form and payment of a $50 non-refundable application fee.
  • A three-to-five page statement of career goals.
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. A minimum overall GPA of 2.5 is required.
  • Three letters of recommendation from supervisors or instructors.
  • A passing score on each section of the General Knowledge (GK) test is required. To register, visit www. http://www.fl.nesinc.com/. Note: Passing scores on all sections of the College-Level Academic Skills Test (CLAST), if taken before July 2002, may take the place of the GK test requirement.
  • A Statement of Eligibility from the Florida Department of Education

Recertification and Special Students

Applicants seeking admission as special students for one or two courses must submit the following for admission as a recertification or special student:

  • A completed application form and payment of a $50 non-refundable application fee.
  • Official transcripts for all colleges and universities attending. A minimum overall GPA of 2.5 is required.
  • One letter of recommendation from a supervisor or instructor.
