“Our World, Our Business - Creating Sustainable Business Practices”
is an in-depth workshop for executives, managers and business professionals who seek to make their organizations stronger, sharper and more secure in the future.

In this two-and-a-half day workshop, you will learn:

  • The best options for implementing sustainability initiatives at your company that will reduce costs.
  • How to improve customer loyalty and ultimately benefit the environment.
  • How having sustainable business practices in place at your company will help you gain a competitive edge.

Explore the key elements of sustainability, a concept that is rapidly becoming central to the corporate strategies of major global organizations. You will learn the best options to implement sustainability initiatives at your company that will reduce costs, improve customer loyalty and ultimately benefit the environment. Having sustainable business practices in place at your company will help you gain a competitive edge.

Using examples from agriculture, food & beverage, consumer products and other critical industries, this workshop will delve into the “Why?”, the “What?” and the “How?” of embedding sustainability into your business practices and making them PAY OFF. Participants will come away with ideas addressing, for their own organizations, the critical question of “What Now?”

Darden Restaurants Recycle

Included in the workshop is a tour of the Darden Restaurants LEED Gold Certified Restaurant Support Center in Orlando to learn about their sustainability initiatives. You will also hear from a panel of individuals from leading companies in Florida and how they are adopting green business practices.

More than recycling, sustainable business practices require a review of all aspects of your business and identification of key areas in which you can take action to minimize the effect on the environment.

The panel discussion at the Darden Restaurants Restaurant Support Center will include:

  • Tim Center, Sustainable Florida (Moderator)
  • Michael Hewett, Director of Environmental & Sustainability Programs, Publix Supermarkets
  • Tammy Brister, Environmental Integration Director, Walt Disney World
  • Elaine Heldewier, Sustainability Director, Carnival Cruise Lines
