The Rollins' News Bureau

Do you have a story you want to share?

The Rollins News Bureau was created to help gather college-wide news and distribute it through R-Net.  Under the guidance of the Office of Public Relations & Communications (OPRC), members of the student-operated news bureau will gain practical experience in news gathering, interviewing, writing and photography, while supplying R-Net with relevant campus news articles.

How does the News Bureau work?

Through the “Submit News” page on the R-Net Web site, members of the Rollins campus community submit story ideas and requests for event coverage (with at least two weeks’ advance notice) to the OPRC.  The news bureau coordinator then assigns the story idea or event to a bureau reporter.

Who are the members of the News Bureau?

News Bureau “reporters” are OPRC interns and work studies.  These students primarily assist the office by writing Web stories for R-Net, but will also write press releases and other communications materials, as well as assist with daily OPRC duties.
