1960s


’61 | On 2/2/12, Bob FlemingJohn Harkness, and Sally Hunt Forthun enjoyed a minireunion at Bob's home near Stone Mountain State Park, GA. While together, they phoned Dyck W. Vermilye, dean of men at Rollins during the late '50s and early '60s. Now approaching his 90th birthday, Dyck lives with his wife, Avis, in Taos, NM. Since leaving Rollins, he has worked in a Jesuit mission in Zimbabwe, and served as dean of Pendle Hill, a Quaker study and retreat center. John works for Mississippi State University©s School of Veterinary Medicine, and Sally is retired and lives with her husband in Waleska, GA. 


’65 | In April, George Fisher (1), professor of chemistry at Barry University in Miami, FL, received the 2013 American Chemical Society national award for encouraging disadvantaged students into careers in the chemical sciences. 


’68 | Terry A. Bunde (2) , professor emeritus of chemistry at Maryville College, was presented a medallion–the highest honor from the liberal arts college–for his award-winning teaching and contributions to Maryville's reputation.




1970s


’74 | Louis Lacroix (3) celebrated his 60th birthday on a cruise to the Bahamas with wife, Jacqueline Lacroix '75, and Rollins friends Maralyn J. Barry '71 and Robert Barry '73Claudia G. Thomas (4) is one of 20 Florida artists featured in author Ashley Rooney's book 100 Southern Artists


’76 | Sally Albrecht (5) reports that the Rollins quartet comprised of her and longtime choir and theater friends David Patrick '77, Ann Parsons Pearson '79, and David Pearson '78, met at her home in Raleigh, NC, for a minireunion. John M. Brennan '76 of GrayRobinson in Orlando was named in the 2013 Best Lawyers in America referral guide. Tracy Kolker married Bruce Ochsman '80 (6) on 7/3/12 in Las Vegas, NV. Kirk Wiles II received a BB&T promotion to the position of vice president of the corporation's subsidiary Scott & Stringfellow. 

’79 | Blair Howard, president of Howard Wholesale, celebrated the 100th anniversary of his family's Central Florida business in 2012. LuLu Merrick, director of the Ivymount School post-high school programs, recently received the Director's Award from the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center. Diane M. Wink, professor and coordinator of the Nurse Educator M.S.N. Program at the University of Central Florida, has been appointed the Hugh F. and Jeannette G. McKean Endowed Chair in Nursing.




1980s


’83 | Douglas M. Roth '87MBA (7) was profiled in the Richmond Times-Dispatch for his dedication to public service. He oversees BB&T's business development and marketing in Richmond, VA, and serves as chairman of the Greater Richmond Chamber. 

’85| The jewelry of Kathryn Doll, owner of Kathryn Designs Art Jewelry, was included in gift bags for Tyra Banks, Vanessa Lachey, Zooey Deschanel, and Jessica Alba, and in swag bags for the 46th Annual Country Music Association Awards. Tom Zapcic and other Phi Delta Theta members met in Amelia Island, FL, to play golf in memory of John Clark '87, who recently died of cancer. Attendees included Michael Ackerman '84, Peter Pollock '86, Richard Sherman '86, Mark Gabriel '86, Scott duPont '87, Paul Jureller III '87, Peter Allport '87, Mark Thompson '87, Shannon Bower '87, David Beltrami '87, and Thomas Elias '87 (8). Additionally, an impromptu reunion was held in Atlanta for Rollins Phi Delts, and attendees included Thomas Elias '87, Michael Ackerman '84, David Beltrami '87, and Tom (9).

’87 | Gregg Kaye will be inducted into the Sunshine State Conference Hall of Fame in June 2013 and will be recognized for his tenure as associate commissioner from 2001±07. Following his service as chair of the NCAA Division III Baseball Committee, Gregg is currently the commissioner of the Commonwealth Coast Conference, an NCAA Division III athletic conference.

’88 | Michael Orley was ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons in the Anglican Diocese of the West and took his vows at St. John's Anglican Church in Prescott, AZ.  

’89 | Artist Sarah Miller had a solo exhibition of mixed-media paintings and documentary photographs at the University of Toledo's Catharine S. Eberly Center for Women in fall 2012. 




1990s


’92 | Jason Dimitris (10) and wife, Sandy, welcomed Amelia Jaemi
on 11/1/12. 

’95 | Trevor A. Clendenin was awarded an academic scholarship to IE University's School of Communication in Madrid, Spain, where he is expected to receive his master of visual media communication degree in July 2013. He has an 8-year-old son, Tristan, and has been married to wife, Heather, since May 2011.  

’97 | David Glucksman (11) was recognized as Teacher of the Year at Keene's Crossing Elementary School in Windermere, FL. Elizabeth King '97MLS (12) received the Florida Association for Women Lawyers' Leader of the Law Award, an honor reserved for members who have earned professional respect through their character, community engagement, and advancement of women's causes in the community. 

’98 | Shannon O'Grady teaches ballet, jazz, modern, and tap dance at the Artistic Impression Studio in Boonton, NJ, and she was featured in bornreadybaby.com, a website dedicated to mothers. Jeffrey Ward was named the interim associate dean for assessment in the College of Fine Arts and Communication at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC.

’00 | Tina L. Hook's debut novel, Enchanted by Starlight, was published in October 2012. 

’01 | Evan P. Schube (15) joined the Phoenix, AZ, office of the national law firm Quarles & Brady as an associate. Nicole Sheusi (16) was named director of marketing for Tockwotton on the Waterfront, a senior living community in East Providence, RI. 

’02| Laura Abruzzese, a marketing project coordinator for L'Oreal Professionnel, married Christopher Rossi on 6/1/12 in Summit, NJ. Scott Filter became the associate vice president of public policy at Bridgepoint Education. 

’03 | Jessica Bonanno accepted a fellowship at the University of Notre Dame. Wesley T. Dunaway '03MBA (17) graduated magna cum laude from Florida A&M University College of Law in March 2012 and was admitted to the Florida Bar.  

’04 | Joy Buendia (18) became engaged to Gabe Atlman on 10/20/12 and will complete a doctorate of chiropractic in 2014. Meghan B. Griffin is an assistant professor of writing at Daytona State College and earned her PhD in texts and technology from the University of Central Florida. Jourdan Haynes (19), an attorney with the firm Fowler White Boggs, was named a Florida Rising Star 2012 by Florida Super Lawyers. Nikki Hill Johnson (20) and husband, Ben, welcomed Robert Burke on 10/4/12. Eddie Huang's (21) debut memoir, Fresh Off the Boat, was hailed by O Magazine as one of 10 Titles to Pick Up Now and by USA Today as one of the 10 Books to Hibernate With. Evan Levey married Marissa Schaevitz on 11/17/12. 

’05 | Sandra vargas Binder and husband, Taylor '03 (22), welcomed Layla Teresa on 6/27/12. Jennifer Caldwell Waterbury (23) and husband, Roan, welcomed Reilly Jennifer on 9/17/11. Ioana Good '05MA (24), communications manager for law firm Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed, has been appointed to the Legal Marketing Association, Southeastern Chapter board of directors as a member-at-large. Jacob G. Kohlman married Melissa Ann Oliver on 11/10/12. Jessica Magras welcomed Joshua on 11/3/12. In January, Whitney Pierce  Dana and Jeff Hersh '03 (25) caught up at a mutual friend's wedding in Washington, D.C. Kyle and Carolyn Collins Thompson (26) welcomed Tyler Nokomis on 9/5/12.

’06 | Michelle Andrus and husband, Brian Spillane, welcomed Emma Leilani on 10/18/12. Brian Hernandez accepted the position of digital executive producer at KGTV 10News in San Diego, CA. Cherie L. Ramirez (27) earned her doctorate in experimental pathology from The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University in May 2012 and served as a commencement marshal in recognition of her outstanding service to the Harvard community. She also recently became engaged to Tyler Hickman, a doctoral student at Tufts University. Daniell Robertson '10MBA was hired by AdRoll–the No. 1 company on the 2012 Inc. 5000 list in the marketing and advertising category. Danielle M. Wanglien joined New York law firm Norris McLaughlin & Marcus as a litigation associate. Allison Wasserman Hoffman '08MBA (28) welcomed Dylan Charles on 7/12/12. 

’07 | Taylor Cooke Leopold and husband, Bobby, welcomed Grayson Robert on 12/10/12. Ashley Hunsberger Bencan and husband, Zach, welcomed Jackson on 11/11/12. Cat McConnell '09MBA (29), director of the alumni career network at Rollins, became engaged to James Hackenberg '09MBA on 2/14/13. Lindsay Phillips Muscato and husband, Brantley '12MBA, welcomed Burcham on 10/13/12. 

’08 | Mo A. Coffey and husband, Jeremy, welcomed Temperance Noor on 7/16/12. Aaron E. Eagan graduated from Barry University's Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law on 5/12/12. Eric Fraser (30) and wife, Jaclyn, welcomed Emily Renee on 6/5/12. Bryan Stewart '08MBA (31) was appointed associate financial advisor at Stewart, Stewart & Associates, a financial advisory practice with Ameriprise Financial Services. Chase Van Steenburg received an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and recently accepted a position at the Boston Consulting Group. 

’09 | Kristen Stone (32) is the author of Domestication Handbook, a collection of poems and lyric essays about learning to farm and relating with animals. Rachel Todd is working in Wuxi, China, as a teacher with the English First program. She published an article in Wuxi Review titled ™How Can English Improve One's Future?




2010s


’10 | Yoni Binstock launched climatescores.com, an online resource for the benefit of citizens and activists who seek higher accountability from the U.S. Congress regarding climate change legislation. Jasmine Clayton married Jerrod McCartney on 9/1/12. Ravinda Hongsranot married Alan Landau (33) in Bangkok, Thailand, on 6/6/12. Megan R. Lanier '11MBA (34) was promoted to program manager of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce. Michelle Madow (35) is the author of The Secret Diamond Sisters, a trilogy of contemporary young adult books. William Perry '10MHR and other MHR alumni dined at Seasons 52 in Altamonte Springs, FL, for a holiday celebration. Attendees included Patrice Clarke '10MHR, Ricky Baez '10MHR, Melissa Harper '10MHR, Lynette Grondahl '10MHR, Victoria Lynchard '08 '10MHR, Shelly Goodwin '08 '10MHR, Sherry Graziano '10MHR, and Natalie Bryan '07 '10MHR (36).



’11 | Tim Castino '11MBA (37) married Amanda D'Assaro on 11/17/12 in Knowles Memorial Chapel. Guests included Tim's father John '77, mom Nan (director of The Parents Fund), brother Steven '02 '05MBA, sister Kelly '09, sister-in-law Brooke '05MHR, and uncle Danny '84. Amanda is the associate director of alumni and development communications at Rollins. Brittany Fornof worked on the Mitt Romney presidential campaign as a field director and was hired by Rep. Pete Sessions to serve as his press secretary. Alexandra Lang '12MBA was hired by enterprise social network service Yammer, a Microsoft company. Tiffany Nugent (38) married Robert Aguirre on 11/18/12 beside Lake Virginia at Rollins. James C. Poindexter (39) is working toward his JD at Florida Coastal School of Law and also toward an MBA from Jacksonville University. James was recently elected to serve as secretary for the Duval County Democratic Party in Jacksonville, FL. 

’12 | The Hadassah-Brandeis Institute selected Aislinn Betancourt for its nationally recognized HBI Summer Internship. Seaman Timothy P. Mazzotta completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, IL.
