Rollins College offers instruction in all the orchestral wind instruments.  Private instruction and ensembles are available to support the following instruments:  flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, french horn, trombone, tuba.   Students receive training in the solo, orchestral, and chamber literature to prepare them for graduate study or employment as performers and/or teachers.  Emphasis is on musical and technical development, knowledge of the repertoire, and ensemble playing.  Students studying these instruments and those who are receiving a Department of Music scholarship are expected to participate in either Rollins Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Flute Choir, Woodwind Ensemble, and various Chamber Ensembles in the Department.  At the discretion of the Artistic Director, advanced students have the opportunity to perform with the Bach Festival Orchestra.
