Rollins? Winter With the Writers Culminates with Former U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins

What: The 69th season of Winter With the Writers, A Festival of the Literary Arts concludes Thursday, Feb. 19 with poet Billy Collins. Collins is the author of several books of poetry, including Ballistics, Nine Horses, Picnic, Lightning and The Art of Drowning. He is also the recipient of fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Guggenheim Foundation. In 1992, Collins served as “Literary Lion” for the New York Public Library, and in 2001, as the U.S. Poet Laureate. Collins is a Distinguished Professor of English at Lehman College, City University of New York and was recently named as the Irving Bacheller Professor of Creative Writing at Rollins for the 2008-09 academic year. Events are free and open to the public.
