Winter Park, Fla. (November 17, 2008) – The Rollins College Board of Trustees has elected Bruce A. Beal to a three-year term.
Beal, who lives in Palm Beach, Fla., Boston and Woods Hole, Mass., is chairman and CEO of The Beal Companies, LLP, a 125-year family-owned real estate investment and development firm in Boston, Mass. He graduated from Rollins College with a bachelor’s degree in general human relations in 1958 and engaged in postgraduate work in law at Boston University from 1958 to 1961. Beal has extensive board and leadership experience. He is a former trustee and vice president of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, former trustee of The Cambridge School and The New England Conservatory, former chairman of the annual fund for Harvard School of Public Health, former chairman of the Harvard Parent Association, trustee of Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, member of the Visiting and Collections Committees to the Harvard Art Museums, board member at the Marine Biology Laboratory and director of Tweedy Browne Global Funds and Tweedy Browne American Fund.
