Rollins College and The Olympia Companies appointed
Deanne Gabel general manager of The Alfond Inn, opening in Winter Park in
August 2013.
Gabel has experience in several facets of the hospitality
industry. Most recently, Gabel was a senior vice president with Wyndham
Worldwide’s Hospitality Division. She held several positions at Disney, most
notably as general manager of the Disney Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, as
well as the Disney Institute and Resort Villas. Prior to her Orlando residency,
Gabel held positions with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Millennium Hotels
and Resorts, and Intercontinental Hotels.
“I am thrilled to be part of the leadership of this
remarkable project,” Gabel said. “The Alfond Inn is a unique property that has
generated tremendous excitement, and I am looking forward to bringing my luxury
service experience and leadership values to guests of The Alfond Inn, as well
as to the Winter Park community. It is particularly rewarding that net profits
generated from this project will be directed to a scholarship endowment for
students of Rollins College, thanks to a generous contribution by the Alfond
Foundation.”
Gabel received her MBA from the Crummer Graduate
School of Business and has served on Crummer’s Board of Overseers for several
years.
The Alfond Inn, opening in August 2013, features
112 exquisitely appointed guest rooms and suites, 10,000 square feet of
distinctive meeting and event space, a full-service restaurant and bar, and a
well-appointed fitness room and elevated pool.
