Residential Life at Rollins College will be locally, regionally and nationally known and recognized for our commitment to students and student learning; safe, secure and well-maintained residence halls; and outstanding living learning community opportunities.
In support of the college mission, the Office of Residential Life is committed to creating learning environments that are conducive to and focused on holistic student development, student learning, and student success.
These environments are aimed at assisting students in finding their purpose and passion.
Learning: We believe in the educational power and potential of residential halls and the on-campus living experience. We aim to complement and support the traditional educational experience and encourage a desire for life-long learning by engaging students in learning outside of the classroom.
Social Justice: We are committed to creating environments free from hate, prejudice and discrimination; communities where each community member is celebrated and shares the same basic rights, securities, opportunities, and benefits.
Responsibilities: Students learn responsibility and decision making when they are held accountable --both individually and collectively -- for their actions, or inactions, in an environment marked by caring and concern.
Collaboration: In our endeavors to accomplish our mission and support the College, we recognize that the work that needs to be done is bigger than our department alone. As such, intentional collaboration with other departments, faculty, students and staff are core components to our work and success.
Leadership: We will create venues for learning and practicing ethical ways to motivate, enable and serve others. In turn, we will model ethical leadership.
