Winter Break CDC Guidelines and Returning for Spring

Dear Campus Community:

As you finalize your Winter Break plans, we urge you to familiarize yourself with the new guidelines the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released this week regarding heightened concerns about winter holidays and travel.

These CDC concerns coincide with increased cases across the country and locally in Orange County. We urge you to be aware of these latest recommendations from the CDC and other national medical organizations. These recommendations include limiting the size of planned gatherings, reducing travel, and taking additional precautions to stay away from others. We implore you to uphold the Tars Promise during the Winter Break to keep yourself, members of your family, and your community safe.

In light of these new recommendations, we call your attention to the updates below regarding the start of the spring semester. As we are anticipating a higher positivity rate in the broader area, we will be working to re-establish the safe Rollins community we built in the fall.

Be safe and well,
Provost Susan Singer
