Join Rev. Katrina Jenkins for Sunday Service and a read-in of Martin Luther King Jr.'s famous speeches and sermons.
Monday, January 16th
MLK Day of Service | 8 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. | Multiple Locations
Join us for a day of service on January 16th as we honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. Transportation will be provided, meet at the Rollins Museum of Art. Volunteers will receive more information via email closer to the service date. RSVP for a volunteer spot here!
Seedlings for Civil Rights – Volunteers will green up a local park and the surrounding trails by planting, mulching, and removing litter and debris. This project will be leaving from Rollins at 8:00am and returning around 12:30pm. To learn more about Seedlings for Civil Rights, click here!
Mustard Seed of Central Florida – Volunteers will be working on a variety of projects including mattress recycling, warehouse organizing, and sorting to help their Seed Boutique and community shop. Volunteers should expect to be able to lift 10 – 40 pounds. This project will be from leaving from Rollins at 12:30pm and returning around 4:30pm. The Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Vigil celebrates the life and impact of Dr. King, Jr. The vigil, this year, highlights the theme "Power of Endurance." We will be joined by Dr.Yohuru Williams who Is a Distinguished University Chair and Professor of History and Founding Director of the Racial Justice Initiative at the University of St. Thomas. There will be a special performance from the Theater and Dance department. This event is free.Tuesday, January 17th

Reunion and Hope Festival | 4 P.M. | Swindle Patio (behind Dave's boathouse)
In celebration of MLK day and Lunar New Year, SGA, in partnership with AAPI and BSU, will be holding the Reunion and Hope Festival. In recognition of Black, Asian, and Pacific Islander culture we want to commemorate these two very important celebrations that represent those communities who have been divided in the past. Join us in the unification of all Black, Asian, and Pacific Islanders.

Bring a blanket and join us for a movie screening of The Green Book on Mills Lawn! The screening will be followed by a discussions and debrief with The Student Center for Inclusion and Belonging.
