Phi Theta Kappa selects Rollins as a leader in transfer-student development and success.
Rollins is one of just 122 colleges and universities named to Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society’s 2020 Transfer Honor Roll, which recognizes the nation’s best four-year institutions at creating dynamic pathways to support transfer students.
Phi Theta Kappa is the premier honor society recognizing the academic achievement of students at associate-degree-granting colleges and helping them grow as scholars and leaders.
Colleges were selected for the honor roll based on their Transfer Friendliness Rating on PTK Connect, an online tool that helps students find their best-fit colleges, career pathways, and more. The rating is based on a college’s admissions practices, cost of attendance, campus life, recruitment practices, and peer reviews. Only the top 25 percent highest-rated colleges were named to the Transfer Honor Roll.
“The Transfer Honor Roll reflects the growing importance of recognizing and responding to the needs of transfer students,” says Lynn Tincher-Ladner, Phi Theta Kappa president and CEO. “This award is given to four-year colleges and universities with proven outcomes for transfer success. They are the best at providing a supportive and smooth transition from community college—equating to increased rates of bachelor’s degree attainment for transfer students.”
From a transfer-specific seminar course to one-on-one advising, Rollins offers a host of resources designed to help transfer students thrive on America’s most beautiful campus.
"I wanted to transfer to a school where I could further develop as a scholar, individual, and citizen and Rollins was the right fit," says Isaac James ’20, who transferred to Rollins from Jackson State Community College and earned a 2019 Truman Scholarship. “From my Rollins College Conference course to peer mentors and faculty advisers, I was fully supported from the start. As part of the Rollins community, I have resources and tools to reach my goals and dreams.”
