Trustee Eric Spiegel and his wife, Donna Spiegel, provide scholarships for students on the women’s swim team and in the X-Club fraternity.
Rollins trustee Eric Spiegel and his wife, Doreen Spiegel, have made a $200,000 gift to endow two new scholarships supporting student leaders and athletes.
The Jessica Dee Spiegel Scholarship for Women’s Swimming will benefit members of the Rollins women’s swim team who show demonstrated financial need and are in good academic standing.
The Allan Eric Spiegel Scholarship gives preference to members of the X-Club fraternity with demonstrated financial need and in good academic standing who promote the values of honor, value, and leadership. Students holding leadership positions in fraternities and sororities or other campus organizations are also eligible.
An additional $10,000 gift will allow each scholarship to be granted this fall.
The Spiegels’ daughter, Jessica ’13, a communication major, was active on the swim team and in the Student Government Association. Their son, Allan ’16, a business major, was a member of X-Club, EcoRollins, and Phi Sigma Pi.
Eric, formerly president and CEO of Siemens USA, has served on the Rollins Board of Trustees since 2014 and is an executive-in-residence at Rollins’ Crummer Graduate School of Business. Doreen, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, is a former collegiate counselor.
