Teaching Portfolios
Through curated selections from the RMA’s collection, these Teaching Portfolios address a range of current topics and historical events pertinent to the liberal arts. As primary sources, the featured works illustrate how artists of various periods and cultures approach ideas, problems, events, and concepts. Each portfolio begins with an overview of the theme followed by images of works accompanied by individual informational entries. Executed in a variety of media and representing multiple perspectives, the artworks were selected for their potential to encourage learning, discovery, dialogue, and critical thinking. When viewed as a group, these portfolios offer a point of entry to explore diverse topics through the visual arts. Please note that works in the portfolios may not be on view. Each portfolio also includes links to the collection pages where you may learn more about the works and the artists.
