About Economics at Rollins College

An economics major provides the opportunity to acquire ideas and thinking skills that will enrich one’s life. Moreover, an economics major offers a solid foundation for careers in business and government and excellent preparation for graduate professional schools such as MBA programs, law schools and International Relations programs. In combination with a minor in mathematics, the economics major also provides fine preparation for strong PH.D. programs in economics.

More About the Major

Curricular Reform

The department has transformed the traditional introductory two course sequence of Micro-Macro into a three course sequence. These are, in order, Economics in Historical Perspective, Principles of Micro and Macroeconomics, and Alternative Economic Perspectives.
The economics department continues to work on these and our upper level courses through individual faculty experimentations, research and collective discussions.
