Enrollment Policy

  • Waiting List Updates

    Early in the spring semester, we email all waiting-list families with children ages 2–4. Families who don’t reply are moved to an inactive list but can be reactivated anytime by contacting us.

  • Available Openings

    Openings for the upcoming school year are determined after current families re-register, typically in early February.

  • Enrollment Priority

    Spaces are offered first to faculty, staff, and student families, then to alumni families, and then to community families.

Enrollment for Children with Identified Needs

  • Identifying openings: The Director, Executive Director, and Inclusion Coordinator review each classroom’s current makeup and the inclusion waiting list to identify openings and eligible children.
  • Developmental screening: When appropriate, families complete the Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ). The Director scores it and shares the results with parents. If scores fall below the cutoff in three or more areas, an Early Steps or preschool diagnostic evaluation may be required before enrollment is finalized.
  • Play date visit: Your child visits the designated classroom to experience our lab school setting. The Director and Inclusion Coordinator observe and determine classroom placement in consultation with the Executive Director.
  • Goal-setting meeting: In the first weeks of school, teachers, the Inclusion Coordinator and the Director meet to set goals for your child. Parents share contact information for their child’s therapists and physicians so classroom goals align with therapeutic and health goals.
