Technology Tools Available for Rollins Students

Adobe Creative Cloud

  • Rollins is an Adobe Campus which means that you have access to the Adobe Creative Cloud tools (e.g., Photoshop, Premiere, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Illustrator) in all computer labs on campus
  • Please remember that lab computers are work stations and not for storing your work, so be sure to bring an external storage device to save your work.
  • Don’t know how to use Adobe Creative Cloud tools but want to learn? Check out Lynda.com for video tutorials. Rollins has a subscription to Lynda.com so be sure to log in with your Rollins email address.

Canvas

  • Canvas is the learning management system for the Rollins community. Your instructors may post class materials, assignments, and grades in Canvas. Each instructor uses Canvas differently, so you may use certain tools in one course that you do not use in another. 
  • Log in to Canvas with your FoxID and password.

WebEx Teams

  • WebEx Teams is a videoconferencing tool that allows you to collaborate with a team. You can set up multiple rooms to make video calls with a group, share your computer screen, and chat. This may come in handy when working on group projects or collaborating with team members in a different location.

Foliotek

  • Foliotek is the e-Portfolio tool used at Rollins. Currently, all CLA students have access to Foliotek. This tool allows you to submit files to an assessment area and create unlimited presentation portfolios that you may share publicly or privately.

Kaltura

  • Kaltura is an all-in-one video tool that allows you to upload, store, share, and trim videos.
  • Log into Canvas to access Kaltura.
  • Once you upload videos to Kaltura, you can easily submit them to Canvas assignments or share them with instructors and other students without having to download them.
  • Within Kaltura is a tool called Kaltura Personal Capture that allows you to create a screen recording, webcam recording, voice only recording, or a combination of these. This tool is helpful in recording narrated PowerPoints and embedding them in a Canvas course.

Lynda.com

  • Lynda.com has a repository of over 5,000 training videos that help you learn business, software, technology, and creative skills. You can complete entire video courses, select specific course sections, create custom playlists, and bookmark where you left off.
  • Log into Lynda.com using your FoxID and password.


NVivo


OneDrive

  • Microsoft OneDrive is a cloud storage platform that can be used to store and access your files from anywhere, on any device, and at any time!
  • You get 5 TB of storage!
  • You can create and edit Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote files, all from within your OneDrive. Log into Microsoft OneDrive and get started (Additional apps are available as part of Office 365, including, but not limited to: Outlook, OneNote, and Teams).

Qualtrics

  • Qualtrics is a survey tool that allows you to create and distribute surveys, collect data, and view or download data in a variety of formats. You can collaborate and share surveys with other students, faculty, and staff members at Rollins.
  • Rollins’ Qualtrics account is open to faculty, students and staff for institutional use only.

SPSS


SAS/JMP

  • JMP is a statistical analysis tool with data visualization and data modelling features.
  • You may access SAS/JMP in certain computer labs on campus.
  • If you would like to install SAS/JMP on your personal laptop, please contact the Help Desk.


Video Tools

There are a variety of tools available to help you create, edit, publish, and share video projects. 

  • You can check out video cameras, tripods, and lighting equipment from the Olin Library Circulation desk.

  • iMovie is a good video editing tools for beginner and intermediate users and is available on all Mac computers on campus
    Lynda.com provides tutorials on using iMovie.
  • Adobe Premiere is an advanced video editing program available on all Mac and PC computers on campus.

  • Kaltura allows you to create clips of videos or chop the beginning or end of video clips. See the Kaltura section above for more information.
