Rollins is one of the nation’s best colleges, but don’t just take our word for it. Explore some of the ways college experts rank Rollins No. 1.
In its latest rankings of the nation’s best colleges, U.S. News & World Report named Rollins the No. 1 regional university in the South. It was the 25th year in a row that the College was ranked among the region’s best two universities, but it’s far from Rollins’ only top accolade. In fact, college experts have ranked Rollins among the nation’s best for everything from academic and athletic excellence to undergraduate teaching and experiential learning. Explore a few examples of how those in the know rank Rollins the best of the best.
No. 1 for Best Undergraduate Teaching Programs
In addition to naming Rollins the No. 1 regional university in the South, U.S. News & World Report also ranked the College No. 1 for best undergraduate teaching programs. Thanks to our 11:1 student-faculty ratio and average class size of just 17, Rollins students receive individualized attention from expert faculty inside and outside the classroom, helping them develop their personal and professional passions and achieve their career and life goals.

In 2018, Rollins was No. 1 nationally for the highest percentage of students who participate in alternative breaks. It was the sixth consecutive year that Rollins ranked in the top five for this accolade and the fourth time the College has taken the top spot. Rollins’ Immersion experiences allow students to engage some of the world’s most pressing issues through weekend and sometimes weeklong journeys of education, reflection, and action. They also give Tars a leg up in the job market. After all, a recent survey of employers revealed that 83 percent of hiring managers are more likely to hire candidates who have participated in a field-based project in a community with people from diverse backgrounds.

Florida Campus Compact named Rollins the Most Engaged Campus of 2018 for the College’s demonstrated commitment to social and community engagement. No. 1 Academic Success Rate in Sunshine State Conference
In 2018, Rollins earned its eighth consecutive Division II Presidents’ Award for Academic Excellence, which honors schools where student-athletes achieve an academic success rate of 90 percent or higher. Rollins’ 95 percent success rate was tied with Eckerd for the No. 1 spot in the 11-school Sunshine State Conference.
