From the Director
In one of the largest national survey of cultural consumers in our country last spring, you – our public – have let us know that you expect art museums to change. You challenged us to center equity and social justice; to be more accessible and welcoming; to offer different perspectives and be more rooted in the community.
Here at Rollins, we strive to meet that challenge. The museum has two long-term priorities: to showcase and contextualize art that helps us understand our world, the current moment, and how to best navigate it; and to emphasize the ability of art to bring people together, promote understanding and empathy, and provide a safe environment for difficult, yet necessary, conversations.
We hope that you will find your safe place in our museum, a place where the questions we ask resonate with you and where you formulate questions of your own. A place where art offers a moment of reflection and happy exploration, of quiet thinking and engaged conversations.
Hope to see you soon – and when you visit, please drop us a line with your thoughts on how we are doing.
