Founded in 1962, AUP is an internationally renowned liberal arts university with a focus on preparing its students for global careers. The campus is within close walking distance to the Eiffel Tower and other monuments and cultural attractions.

Academic Information
Courses
- All students must take one French language course AND a core France-related course.
- With the exception of language courses, classes are taught in English.
- Many courses involve activities outside of the classroom and in the urban environment of Paris.
- AUP is an excellent fit for many majors at Rollins.

Transfer of Credit
- Courses are worth 4 credits and most students take 4 courses for a total of 16 credits.
- Grades and credits earned in the program will be included on the Rollins transcript and factored into the GPA.
- It can take up to three months for grades to be processed.
- Students can take major and minor courses abroad (with approval from the academic department) and can also take competencies and rFLA200-level seminars abroad (with approval from the Registrar).
What It’s Like to Study Abroad in France
Housing & Meals
- Students will live in shared apartments in residential areas of Paris close to the metro and approximately 40 minutes by metro from the AUP campus.
- Housing is located in non-touristy neighborhoods that reflect the diversity of Paris.
- Apartments have fully equipped kitchens and include bed linens, on-site washing machine, high-speed Wi-Fi, utilities allowance, property insurance, and on-call maintenance.
- Students can buy groceries and cook in their apartments, as there is no meal plan. Cheap Eats Out and Easy Make-it-Yourself Meals
- There are many restaurants and cafes within walking distance of the campus.
Student Life
- AUP offers competitive and recreational sports, student clubs and organizations, volunteer opportunities, and an SGA.
- Discounted memberships at local gyms are available to students.
- Many courses at AUP include a component of learning outside the classroom.
- AUP runs a cultural program which organizes faculty-led study trips associated with courses and cultural excursions. Recent cultural excursion destinations include Disneyland Paris, Burgundy, Champagne, Normandy, Barcelona, and the Loire Valley. These excursions come at an additional cost.

Requirements for Admission
- Exceptional Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors
- Clean record with the Office of Community Standards and good academic and college standing
- Professional application: materials are submitted on-time, are edited before submission, and are thorough and thoughtful
- One semester of French language at Rollins College (exceptions for transfer participants)
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Required advising session (30 minutes) as part of the application process. Visit MyRollins to schedule an advising appointment.
Getting There
Flight
Students arrange their own flight to Paris. AUP meets students Charles de Gaulle airport then shuttles them to the University and to their housing.
Orientation
All students are assigned an AUP student peer advisor who will be in contact prior to arrival.
A mandatory week-long orientation introduces students to AUP and Paris, campus and the Metro, academic orientation, practical guidance, and social events.
Visa
- U.S. citizens must obtain a visa from a French consulate in the US prior to departure.
- The French visa process is complex and lengthy and involves an online component as well as an in-person visit to the consulate.
- The Student Immigration Services Team from AUP will also assist with French immigration requirements for visas.

Most Rollins financial aid and scholarships will apply to the semester abroad.

Scholarships
Scholarships based on financial need are available to off-set costs associated with international airfare and other costs associated with study abroad. Students can apply for scholarships through the Rollins program application.
Living and Working
Having a credit card while abroad is very helpful. France has a comparable cost of living to the United States though since Paris is a large city, costs will be higher than in Central FL. Students are able to work part-time on a student visa while in France.
