CMS 195: Colombia - Innovation in Colombia

Colombia is a nation characterized by stark contrasts. This trip delves into its rich imperial history, tumultuous recent past, and the evolving dynamics of its traditional extractive economy. In the twenty-first century, Colombia is witnessing a transformative shift with the emergence of innovative tourism and tech start-ups. This trip aims to unravel the intricacies of these diverse facets, exploring how they intersect and shape the vibrant tapestry of this South American nation. The main goal is to challenge preconceived notions, offering students an opportunity to gain an understanding of Colombia's ongoing process of rebuilding, and the strides it has taken to forge ahead through innovation while respecting and preserving its historical roots.
