European Art

Collecting European art at Rollins College began long before the Rollins Museum of Art came into being. Major gifts of Italian Renaissance paintings in the 1930s (among them a couple of Kress paintings) inaugurated the Old Masters collection and inspired others to add to it. Significant Renaissance and Baroque paintings, as well as works by 18^th, 19^th, and 20^th century masters were acquired through the decades. Today, the European art collection, which includes paintings, prints and drawings spanning six centuries, continues to be a collection strength.
