European Art
Collecting European art at Rollins College began long before the Rollins Museum of Art came into being. Major gifts of Italian Renaissance paintings in the 1930s (among them a couple of Kress paintings) inaugurated the Old Masters collection and inspired others to add to it. Significant Renaissance and Baroque paintings, as well as works by 18th, 19th, and 20th century masters were acquired through the decades. Today, the European art collection, which includes paintings, prints and drawings spanning six centuries, continues to be a collection strength.
